The asbn seminar and training centre in Ravelsbach (“Virtual Construction Site”) is being expanded in a 3rd step. The seminar centre in Ravelsbach (“virtual building site”) is being extended and expanded in a third step: 3 new guest rooms are to be built organically in CUT technique (half vaults) on the north side of the barn that has been converted into a seminar centre, a covered exhibition space is to illustrate the construction techniques, show the possibilities of gentle remodelling with renewable materials (straw, wood, reed, hemp) in combination with natural clay and lime plasters, and a lean-to glass house is to be built as a greenhouse for vegetables to feed the seminar participants* and as a roof and heat buffer for the biodigester (biogas production for cooking).

Guestroom-Vaults

This will be the last step of the barn conversion (about 180 m2), which will show the different building techniques (low-energy house in post-and-beam construction, passive house, OrganiCut vaults and attic conversion) and natural surfaces (clay plasters, tadelakt, precious plasters, sgrafito) as well as the possibilities of extending and converting existing barns and outbuildings in rural areas, integrated in the village association (redensification).
