The UP STRAW partners initiated and forwarded a survey to farmers in order to identified the potential straw providers for buildings. The survey’s results are summarised on the map above.

Since farmers are not familiar with minimum requirements for quality straw, the partners published
a quality procedure for construction straw bales. It can be used by farmers after harvesting or by clients and professionals on the construction site.

This procedure is based on French, UK and German procedures and can be used by any country willing to adopt it. The file will be freely available on the ESBA website: Quality procedure for straw bales (Excel File)
