The idea is to make a family home in straw with a contemporary style. The project, built from 2001 to 2002, has achieved the first experiences in building with straw. The building is structured by 28 columns of the bulge trees which take a sheet metal roof, all giving lightness to 750 straw bales and 25 tonnes protected clay below.
Herwig van Sooms Strohballenhaus in Blanden – ein interessantes, modernes Projekt aus Rundholzständern, Strohballen und Lehm mit einem freitragenden Flachdach. Die „lasttragende“ Ballenwand mit liegenden Ballen (50cm Dämmstärke) ist der Rundholz-Ständerkonstruktion vorgesetzt, was einen noch höheren Dämmwert bringt. Die Rundholzkonstruktion ist damit innen sichtbar (und zudem besser geschützt).
