This is a 2 storey family home with attached shop and café at Woore Fruit Farm, Woore, near Crewe, built between 2012 and 2016. Designed by amazonails, it was self built, with courses run by amazonails in strawbale building, and lime plastering, Barbara Jones mentored them throughout the build. It has cement-free foundations, with recycled foamglass under a limecrete slab and plinth walls of brick and foamglass blocks. The owner made their own lime putty from quicklime which saved them a lot of cost, and the single storey attached café has a curved end. Why not go and visit and pick your own fruit?
