Based on the amazonails design of council houses for North Kesteven, these semi detached houses were drawn by Michael Howlett of Sureline with consultancy from amazonails in 2009/10 and self built by Michael over the next couple of years. Amazonails ran training courses to help build the straw walls and Michael did the rest himself with the help of many volunteers. It has rammed car tyre foundations, loadbearing straw walls and lime plaster externally, clay plaster internally and he used the amazonails ideas of building the first floor first to act as weather protection, installed the ground floor straw, then built the roof, lowering it into place on the straw after installation. You can see how he did this here http://www.sureline.org.uk/ecotect/
