As part of the event “Land/Life/Today”, this straw bale sculpture with a tunnel for children was erected in summer 2014 together with workshop participants and members of ravelsbach.kultur using the CUT technique. Such playgrounds for children (and adults) are ideal for conveying an understanding of natural (renewable) materials (NAWAROs) and thus for a sustainable future.

Herbert Gruber

Herbert is author of the book "Neues Bauen mit Stroh in Europa" (New Building with Straw in Europe), head of the austrian strawbale network ASBN and partner in the Leonardo-project "STEP" (Strawbale Training for European Professionals) and the Erasmus project "BuildStraw Pro" (a project to get formal national recognition of the training) and "Make your City Smart".
