This project was developed by Foncière Chênelet with the municipality of Merville, which is very committed to environmental issues. It responds to several challenges: to create healthy, comfortable housing that is truly accessible to all, not only in terms of rents, but also in terms of operating costs over the long term. Bringing economic activity by energizing the local fabric on new issues; enabling local craftsmen and companies to qualify in concrete terms for new construction techniques (eco-construction). The construction system is of the “wood frame and straw bale insulation + Raw earth bricks” type. The wooden caissons that make up the walls and the roof ramps were manufactured and then filled with straw in the workshop. The nailed solid wood walls and flooring for the floors were also prepared in the workshop. All these elements were then assembled on site very quickly. This site has thus made it possible to train employees in the process of integration in innovative techniques in the field of eco-construction.
