The idea of using the technology of straw bale building, after it has been brought back to our consciousness for several years now, for disaster management purposes is obvious. The relief organizations are already aware that due to the increasing disaster potential caused by the population growth on our planet on the one hand and the associated settlement of geologically, meteorologically and socially unstable areas on the other hand, there will be an enormous demand for housing. Good quality of life is required in combination with high sustainability, fast availability and simple technology. The work is intended to contribute to the awareness of the possibilities and risks of straw bale building in this market segment.
