The entire building was purchased and built in-house and therefore cost about half of a traditionally built house of the same size. However, this house also has a healthy indoor climate and is built sustainably with ecological building materials and with respect for nature. “
Via the internet we came across the ESBG (European Strawbale Gathering) in Riemst / Millen in Belgium. We registered for this and had a beautiful inspiring week here. We became more and more aware of the fact that this just had to be the way we wanted to build our house. We started looking for what kind of house we wanted to build and as soon as we knew what we wanted, we received a phone call from the municipality of Veghel that we were eligible for a building plot in a new construction plan. We hadn’t actually taken this into account, this came as a real surprise.
