A straw holiday home that is what Ries and Joke wanted. EcoBuildings took on the task of supervising the design, technical elaboration, material choices and construction supervision. Construction is carried out as self-build.
“It started with a dream to build with straw. The result is an ecological, healthy holiday home with responsible choices. ”
The holiday home is founded on screw piles. A wooden floor could be created directly on this. Straw has been blown into the wooden floor as an insulation material. Under the floor there is a crawl space with used gravel tiles against pests and for ventilation. There is also enough space for installing installations. The walls are structurally equipped with a wooden framework where straw is blown in. On the inside is a constructive plate and on the outside a reinforced foil covered with wooden facade finish.
You can also experience this house yourself at camping Buitenland where it is for rent.
