In-Plane Cyclic Tests of Plastered Straw Bale Wall Assemblies

The construction and testing of six full-scale plastered straw bale wall assemblies are described in this report. The specimens consisted of three cement stucco skinned walls and three earth plaster skinned walls representing varying levels of reinforcement detailing. All walls were tested inplane under either cyclic or monotonic lateral loadings. Measured behavior is presented in this report, along with recommendations for future work.
