The Fructôse project is a site for artistic creation whose activities are spread over 4000 m² in 3 buildings, on Pier 1 of the port of Dunkirk: – the former port customs house which houses offices, a resource area, a sound studio, 2 rehearsal rooms, – Building 4.4, which is intended for events and residencies with two creation platforms, – the so-called “seagull” building housing the individual artists’ studios and the collective construction workshops, – and Pier 1, a big adventure playground! The architectural project, delivered in June 2014, has been implemented since 2009 with a philosophy of co-production with users and anchoring in the territory. It is organized buildings that could be temporarily invested by the association through time and dialogue with the Urban Community of Dunkirk (CUD), the owner, and evidence by action. The straw building project concerns the construction of an artistic creation platform and 24 individual workshops in two industrial buildings in Pier 1.
