The house was built around 1960. Christina Miedler wanted to choose an ecological path and move away from Styrofoam. Through the Waldviertel Energy Round Table the year before (2019), she got to know Reinhard Appeltauer, who works at Sonnenklee in Kematen. She also wanted to support her own region and chose the company Reissmüller from Waidhofen/Thaya to carry out the project. This is how our project “Blow-in insulation with straw” came about.
“We first built a wooden substructure of KVH on our existing wall and then boarded it with a soft wood fibre insulation board. The plan was to blow out 10 cm with straw and 6 cm soft wood fibre insulation board, which also acts as a plaster base board. As everything was “closed”, we cut holes again with a can drill so that the carpenter could bring in the straw. The last layer was the plaster.”

Christina Miedler wollte einen ökologischen Weg wählen und weg vom Styropor. “Durch den Waldviertler Energiestammtisch im Jahr davor (2019) lernte ich Reinhard Appeltauer kennen, welcher bei Sonnenklee aus Kematen arbeitet. Des Weiteren wollte ich die eigene Region unterstützen und wählte für die Ausführung die Fa. Reissmüller aus Waidhofen/Thaya. So entstand unser Projekt “Einblasdämmung mit Stroh”.
Wir haben auf unsere Bestandsmauer zuerst eine Holzunterkonstruktion aus KVH hergestellt und danach mit einer Holzweichfaserdämmplatte verschalt. Plan war, 10cm mit Stroh auszublasen und 6 cm Holzweichfaserdämmplatte, welche zugleich als Putzträgerplatte fungiert. Wie alles “zu” war, haben wir mit einem Dosenbohrer wieder Löcher geschnitten, damit der Zimmerer das Stroh einbringen konnte. Als letzte Schicht kam der Putz.”
