A family, wishing to benefit from a quiet environment, a well insulated house, with large openings on the surrounding countryside, called upon Bois et Paille to work on their project of restoring a farmhouse. In order to meet their criteria, part of the existing house was demolished to create large openings to the south and east. The walls created are timber frame walls, designed for straw bale insulation, the framework is raised and Eddy has provided straw training to the self builders, for straw filling of the timber frame walls. Alexandre has just installed the mixed aluminium/wood joinery. Next big step for the self-constructors, a participative building site for the earth body layer, supervised by Botmobil.
