Program Overview:
- Thursday, September 18:
- ESBA General Assembly (ESBA members only; in the morning)
- Country Presentations of ESBA members (all ticket holders welcome in the afternoon)
- Friday, September 19: Wrapping & Retrofitting
- Morning: Talks and roundtable on using straw insulation (entire bales or loose straw) wrapping new buildings or retrofitting old ones. Round-table discussions following presentations.
- Afternoon:
- Workshops (let us know if you’d like to offer one!)
- Open Space dynamic ( share your own topics of interest or suggest discussions, either in advance or spontaneously). More details at registration
- Saturday, September 20: Load Bearing Construction
- Morning: Presentations on Nebraska-style small bale construction, Nebraska style jumbo bale building , the new RFCP (French association) rules for Nebraska style buildings and new Nebraska association, and latest test results on load-bearing CUT technique. Round-table discussion to follow.
- Afternoon:
- Continuation of workshops.
- Meet the Project Makers (A dedicated space for showcasing innovative projects and networking). More details at registration.
- 1st ESBG Straw Bale Olympics—fun and games to connect with fellow attendees!
- Sunday, September 21: Bus tours of local straw bale homes.
Event Details
- Registration: Opens Spring 2025 (late April or early May). Prices will likely be similar to past events, possibly even lower with funding.
- Accommodations: Plenty of options, including camping, hotels, and Airbnbs. Book early! We’re negotiating discounts for camping sites, but may not have details until spring.
- Food included in the ticket price:
- Thursday evening – wine (and non-alcoholic option) and tasting of local, quality food products.
- Friday lunch – Paella (vegetarian and non-vegetarian options)
- Sunday – picnic style lunch bag
- Note: for Saturday, we are trying to organize a few food-trucks to come and offer there services. We are also very close to the center of town with numerous options for eating.
