A semi-detached loadbearing straw house, with rammed car tyre foundations, self-built near Cardigan, Wales. Designed by amazonails in 2010, based on their standard details which work very well for self-builders, as they are simple and straightforward. They were built by courses run by Rae Parkinson of amazonails and by the owners in 2010/11. They have achieved a very affordable house of a high standard by putting in their own time and effort. The house has a hand-finished look, which adds to its charm and certainly helped to keep the cost down.
