The Offshoots Community Garden run by Groundworks at Towneley hall, Burnley asked for this compost toilet in memory of one of their long standing volunteers in 2001. His friends helped to construct it in 2002-3 with courses run by Barbara Jones of Amazon Nails. It was designed by Barbara with a tall timber base, accessed by steps up to create a long drop, with straw walls and a simple mono pitch roof.
