In Lent you will find one of the largest straw building in the Netherlands, but the size of the building is not even that special compared to how the project came about. Residents, volunteers and professional construction workers worked side by side on this complex of 24 social rental homes, built from straw, earth and wood. Straw Blocks Systems supplied 4000 profiled, dimensionally stable straw blocks for the project. Iewan, popularly known as Strowijk, was officially taken into use on 1 May 2015.
