An energy-neutral senior home is being built at a unique location in the middle of an orchard.
The owners strive for a living environment where they can be completely self-sufficient. A region-specific stilt haystack, straw baled haystack, built from the natural materials straw, lime and earth, larch wood and reed, on a foundation of foam concrete. The client built the house in-house and worked together with students from ReVaBo and their teacher.
The client has a successful feeling about the straw bales of the haystack: the house generates more energy than is used. The energy consumption of this large house is about 6000 to 6500kWh (gasless and all-electric heated), while the solar panels generate 9000kWh. This energy is returned to the old house next to it.
