A well-designed building and good connection with the environment will be lovingly maintained and sustained for much longer than a bleak standard housing solution.
The use of natural materials has offered many possibilities to also raise indoor air quality, light entry, materialization and design to a high level.
The construction of the house is combined with the use of passive and active solar energy.
By also making use as much use as possible of recycled materials, an attempt was made to keep the footprint of the building as low as possible not only during use, but also during construction.
Marc Crijns carried out the construction himself as far as possible in order to test the theoretical knowledge of natural building materials against reality and to be able to expand that knowledge with information from practice, in which the economic feasibility was an important issue. For a pleasant living environment with perfect indoor climate
